Child safety standards
Effective October 27, 2026. These standards apply to Moot’s website, Android app, browser extension, and public API, including content imported from other services.
No child sexual abuse or exploitation
Moot prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). A child is anyone under 18. Do not create, upload, import, request, promote, or share content or engage in behavior that sexually abuses, exploits, or endangers a child.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images, videos, and synthetic or AI-generated depictions of child sexual abuse.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation of children, sexualized content involving children, and attempts to arrange sexual contact with a child.
- Sextortion, threats or blackmail involving a child’s intimate imagery, and child sex trafficking.
- Links, offers, instructions, or other activity that facilitates access to, trading of, or participation in child sexual abuse or exploitation.
These rules apply to posts, comments, profiles, messages, media, and links. An NSFW label, a restricted sharing audience, or publication on another service does not make prohibited content acceptable on Moot.
Report a child safety concern
When signed in, open a post’s menu and choose Report privately. To report a reply, open its discussion, choose Report a comment beneath the replies, and select the comment. State that your concern involves child safety and describe it briefly.
You can also report content or behavior directly to admin@moot.fyi, including without a Moot account. Include the Moot content link or profile handle and a brief description. Do not download, attach, forward, or repost suspected CSAM to make a report.
Email a child safety reportReporter identities and report evidence are not published. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Review and enforcement
Moot reviews child safety reports and takes action on violations of these standards. When we become aware of CSAM on Moot, we remove it or disable access to it. We may also remove other exploitative content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, and take steps to prevent further abuse.
Community rules and appeals cannot override these standards or require Moot to host unlawful content. We handle information associated with reports in accordance with our Privacy policy and applicable legal obligations.
Reporting to authorities
Moot follows applicable child safety laws and reports confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate regional or national authority, as required by applicable law. We preserve relevant information and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities in accordance with those obligations.
