Bloomberg: A jittery market reads Anthropic’s slower growth as bad news for the chips and servers behind AI.

Anthropic third-quarter revenue hit $16.8B, as quarter-on-quarter growth fell from 147% to 45%.

The AI trade now needs Anthropic to show its compute spending produces sustainable profit as sales growth cools.

Anthropic reported adjusted profitability for a second straight quarter and an 11% adjusted operating margin, though executives warned heavy spending on compute and biomedical research could change that.

An early S-1 draft devoted almost a third of its length to risk factors, including AI models behaving unpredictably or maliciously and what Anthropic described as possible existential risks to humanity.
