to support these use cases, "just sql" very quickly becomes "sql-ish", or rolling own string concatenation framework.
just use a query builder. i know a decent one with good ax.
even if you keep pull requests and apply strict process (e.g. issue assignment first), you still have to browse the github accounts to sniff if worthy of your time and investment as a potential collaborator or a bot.
