NNikita BierXView on XTechnical moats are mostly over at this point. If you’re building something that is meant to be durable, the only moats now are:
• Proprietary data
• Network effects
• A physical component
SsignüllXView on Xthe fundamental basic economics misunderstanding that ppl have esp on here is that they think normal ppl need to use models to build their own software to be disrupted. they obviously don't & they obviously won’t.
but even if just 1% of the population can build software, that's enough to flood the entire supply side with millions of new products collapsing the cost to near zero.
you absolutely don't need universal adoption to destroy scarcity. you just need enough producers to overwhelm demand. you can feel this now already. i never pay for software because i just ask claude to point to something like a chrome extension or a mac app & it’s just there. at some point your agents will also auto update & maintain your software automatically too.
It's now the era of personal software and everyone just builds what they need whenever they need it I think

AI is starting to become good enough at reverse engineering and improving almost anything
The latest models were a step-change in capabilities that flew under the radar
TTarasXView on XI'm sorry, but your definition of "normies" is some tech-adjacent person.
A regular person has absolutely no fucking idea what you're talking about here, and frankly, the younger generation is as dumb with tech as the older one, maybe even worse.
The average teen has a hard time using a mouse and a keyboard, and you're talking about building their own software with AI, where a fraction of population worldwide knows what AI is
JJoe GebbiaXView on X@DHH is 🎯. Recycling plastic is a scam on all of us by the industry. The fastest way to wake everyone up from this hallucination is to ban plastic recycling. For first timers to this topic, start here:
L@levelsioXView on XAirbnb just responded to "reviewgate"
The replies here are literally hundreds of people who got their reviews removed directly contradicting what Airbnb says here
The "policy" they have seems to be to remove a guest's review and rating whenever a host asks for it
I don't get why they don't just fix this? Everyone would love to see Airbnb have honest reviews and ratings you can trust
Short term you might get more bookings if everything is a 4.5 or 4.99 but long term people discover it means nothing and they can't trust your platform and they leave elsewhere
I think they're in some internal gridlock by MBAs who want to see revenue go up, not realizing that they're destroying a company
I hope they fix it!
You know it's probably them because it's PR speak to a tee
L@levelsioXView on XAirbnb's entire rating scale is now 4.5 to 5.0
You can't make this up 😂
You can't make this up 😂
L@levelsioXView on XAirbnb deletes negative reviews so everything is always 4.7
Google Maps removes negative reviews in many countries as defamation so everything is always a 4.7
Booking sites want you to book so will also happily remove negative reviews for their hotels so everything is always a 4.7
I made a site called http://hotelist.com/ (or http://hotellist.com/ whatever you prefer, I have both!)
It gets ratings from all booking platforms, normalizes them to show the actual score (eg a booking site where most hotels are always between 4 and 4.7 means you can normalize that to a 0 and 5)
It also uses AI vision models to rate hotels based on how they look
And it browses the internet for actual experiences (think blogs and Reddit posts) to get the real opinion about them outside reviews
And it's starting to work, I just stayed in this beautiful boutique apartment hotel called Woo Suites in Athens for $400/night. Clean, nice minimalist interior, working cold AC, central, excellent staff, great healthy breakfast, and we found it through Hotelist!
It's free, I don't make any money on it (actually I lose thousands per month on it to collect data via APIs and web scrapers) and there's no affiliate money bs like other booking sites (they will increase ranking of hotels if they pay sites a higher commission!)
